The wine is dry, medium-plus-bodied, and a broody deep violet in the glass, but fragrant with blue florals, bright blueberry and plum, mint, dark chocolate, bay leaf and savoury herbs silky smooth on the palate. Tannins are dusty. Pour with prime rib from the grill done rare. Grand Durif food pairings: well-marbled ribeye steak, pork roast, roast leg of lamb.
