The name, Il Ramato, is something of a word game with 'ramato' meaning copper and 'amato' meaning loved one. The Pinot Grigio bottling is made up of hand-harvested fruit exclusively from the “Codis” vineyard; planted in 2004. After a brief cold maceration of 12 hours, the clusters are softly pressed. The juice is cooled and decants naturally, eliminating particles resulting from vinification. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature before the wine ages on the noble lees in stainless steel for 5 months with frequent batonnages.
